Project Appointment
Weir was appointed by the Whangarei District Council (WDC) to provide design services on the Miraka Road Fire Main Upgrade, which involved upsizing approximately 1.1km of 50mm rider main to 150mm. The upgrade was intended to meet firefighting requirements and provide additional capacity for anticipated growth.
Hydraulic Analysis
In delivering our services, Weir undertook a hydraulic analysis to confirm pipe sizing required to achieve firefighting requirements as per SNZ PAS 4509:2008 and WDC’s Engineering Standards.
Design Documentation
Upon confirmation of design requirements, the team went on to produce Tender Drawings and associated procurement documentation, including a Project Specification, Schedule of Quantities (including the Engineer’s Estimate), and Basis of Payment.
