Engineering & Infrastructure Experts
Navin is a Chartered Civil & Environmental Engineer specialising in three waters infrastructure and flood risk. A proven design and project manager, he also offers a strong technical background and has been involved in the development of a range of design standards and guidelines both in the UK and New Zealand.
Andy is a Chartered Geotechnical Engineer with a strong background in medium to large, heavy civil engineering projects. He is highly regarded within the geotechnical community across New Zealand as an expert in micro-tunnelling, ground improvement, site characterisation and soft soil engineering. Andy is also the Managing Director of Weir’s sister company Andy O’Sullivan Geotechnical Engineering.
Auckland Region Manager
James is a Senior Water Engineer and a founding member of Weir. He has experience working on a wide range of projects spanning horizontal infrastructure, including gravity and pressure pipe networks, pump stations, reservoirs, river engineering, and flood risk management. He also has experience developing infrastructure strategies, supporting councils with long-term planning, and providing advice on plan change applications, resource consents, and peer review.
Bay of Plenty & Waikato Region Manager
Bede is a Senior Civil Engineer and a founding member of Weir.
He has been involved in a wide range of projects, from stormwater and flood mitigation solutions, including the design of wetlands and other water-sensitive designs, to water and wastewater reticulation networks and pump stations.
He also offers experience providing design management, procurement, contract administration, and MSQA services.
Northland Region Manager
Simon is a Senior Project Manager and is our Northland Region Manager. He offers experience working on a wide range of infrastructure projects that includes wastewater treatment plant design and construction, water and wastewater reticulation, stormwater conveyance, flood risk assessment, and water sensitive design. His experience also extends to design management, procurement, contract administration, MSQA and project management services.
Operations and Project Administrator
Ruwina offers over 15 years’ experience in financial control, project analysis, and human resources, having previously worked as a Financial Control Analyst at the Asian Development Bank. Ruwina recently completed a Master’s in Applied Business (Business Analytics) and has joined Weir as an Operations and Project Administrator.
Principal Engineer, Hydraulics, Rivers & Coastal
A founding member of Weir, Chenonn is a Hydraulic Engineer with extensive experience spanning open channel flow and pipe networks.
This covers a broad range of specialist areas, including river and coastal engineering, scour and erosion analysis, sediment transfer modelling, and the design of gravity and pressure pipelines and pumping stations.Chenonn’s extensive track record includes the design of significant bridges, culverts, tunnels, scour protection projects, causeways, and land reclamation. A highly respected and recognised member of our industry,
Chenonn is a lecturer at the University of Auckland and previously a professor at the Nanyang Technological University in Singapore.
Senior Water Infrastructure Engineer
Alex is a Senior Water Infrastructure Engineer with experience in both consulting engineering and construction. A recent Master of Civil Engineering graduate, Alex offers a broad skill set spanning design and analysis to project management, contract administration and MSQA. Since joining Weir in September 2025, Alex has played a key role in several projects including the Herne Bay Relief Sewer Enabling Works Contract and the Māngere WWTP Sewer By-Pass Hydraulic Review.
Graduate Engineer
Hank joined Weir during his third year of study at the Engineering faculty of the University of Auckland. As an intern at Weir, he developed his skills and knowledge in the use of a range of hydraulic and hydrological analytical tools and methods. Having successfully completed his studies in 2025, Hank is now a permanent fixture in our office, working closely with senior engineers to deliver a projects spanning the three waters and flood risk.
Graduate Engineer
Rushit joined Weir as an intern during his third year at the University of Auckland, studying civil engineering. He has since successfully completed his studies, and joined Weir as a permanent member of the team. Rushit has a strong interest in sustainable water infrastructure and has already developed experience working on a wide range of projects – focused on flood risk assessments and water infrastructure.
Student Engineer
Misha is currently a final year Civil and Environmental Engineering Student studying at the University of Auckland, with an interest in water engineering. Misha has a strong interest in flood risk management and sustainability. Misha is currently interning with Weir to gain practical experience and contribute to a diverse range of projects.
Andrew has over 35 years of experience in the consulting engineering industry and more than 20 years of experience in civil engineering design and design management.
He is an expert user of AutoCAD Civil 3D and Autodesk Infraworks design software to deliver detailed, civil and drainage infrastructure designs.
He is also a highly experienced design and project manager who has experience providing a broad range of projects spanning transport and water infrastructure to large-scale commercial developments.
